Haysom in Hamble a baker by profession

Trying to piece together who owned/ran a business in Hamble 1840/50. Our building is grade II listed and when we renovated, the original lintel over the door has the name HAYSOM, so would like some help.
William Haysom was born in Hamble 1814 and in 1851 census is a baker in Southampton,

We know from1861 census the Norris family are in residence, they are bakers and run the shop until 1915.

I am assuming that the address shown on the 1851 is your current address so have you checked the 1841 census for your address?  FindMyPast are the only website with that facility

Hi the William Haysom and family are in Southwark, Surrey in 1841 HO107/1086/ 8/16 / 25

One of the Bakers mentioned on that link, was John Bath in 1841 he is 54 occ Baker with wife Sarah 49 and daughter Emmily aged 10 at Copper Hill, Hamble Census Ref HO107/402/ 7/10 / 15

Thanks for your replies.
My problem is our building is in the "High Street" and none have numbers, so cannot pin point exact occupants. Copper Hill is a definite area off the square, so can rule the Bath family out.

I spoke to Hampshire records office and they said we would not know the route the censor took to record, so 1841 he may have walked down one side and up the other, but in 1851 he may have crossed backwards and forwards across the High Street

Would people have owned these properties at this time, or would they have been rented from Earl of Hardwicke or the property owner of the time - how can I follow that line of enquiry?

Did the lintel come from a building which was subject to failure/rot/burning/etc and was, in effect, demolished and the "spoils" re-used . . . . . ?

What buildings are around you, to get a rough position?
ie there are more than 1 beerhouse around.

What, if any, old plans of the town exist?

Our building has been a "shop" for many years - photo evidence.
We dismantled the doorway in 2005 and generally uncovered many years of lintels - the "Haysom" one was the original embedded in the brickwork.

As far as beer houses - we have the King and Queen opposite, The Bugle down the road and The Victory up the road - all houses/buildings are the same period - except opposite which is definitely Queen Anne - steep roof - so all about the same period  1750/60s

What I mean by what is around you is exactly how many dwellings between you now and the things we can prove on the 1841/51/61/ census sheets.

Show us the evidence/photos? Something "concrete"? :-)

The Hamble tithe apportionments and map of 1839/41 may help.  It should list people living in property and who owned it. 

There should be a copy at the Hampshire Records Office.
