Have you tried Scotlands Poeple for the marriage cert?

I found the following birth for Marjory

Birth:  16 SEP 1849
Christening:  21 OCT 1849   Blairgowrie, Perth, Scotland

Parents David BUTTAR & Margaret SPALDING

Marjory's name shows as
MARJORY MEEK JOHNSTON BUTTAR

If this is the right familyhere is another 2 children for David & Margaret

1. BATHEA BUTTER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 25 JUN 1851 B Gowrie, , Perth, Scotland

 2. DAVID BUTTER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 26 SEP 1853 B Gowrie, , Perth, Scotland
RY MEEK JOHNSTON BUTTAR

This couple married 11 MAR 1849   Blairgowrie, Perth, Scotland

A birth match for David BUTTAR
Birth:  05 NOV 1824
Christening:  16 NOV 1824   Blairgowrie, Perth, Scotland
Parents Robert BUTTAR & Elisabeth FERRIER
Also
Birth:  16 NOV 1824   Meigle, Perth, Scotland
His birth was probably recorded in both parents parish.

They married (Robert&Elisabeth)
12 OCT 1823   Meigle, Perth, Scotland

I couldn't narrow anything down for Joseph Wheeler Harmison. Perhaps if you check 1871 census at www.scotlandpeople.gov.uk you may find his year and  place of birth there.

Regards
Amanda

I have just received an extract for a family birth ( Charles Clark ) in Blairgowrie and could scarsely believe this coincidence - there on the next line is :-

David BUTTAR in Blairgowrie and his spouse Christina Henderson BROWN had a child born on the 10th and baptised on the 26th September 1854 named Robert Grant BUTTAR.

Coud the already mentioned David BUTTAR have remarried on say the death of his first wife ? It is such a small area for two David BUTTARs to be begatting at the same time unless they were cousins of course !

I look forward to seeing the outcome.

Fransmoi.

They were two entirely unrelated David Buttars.  The one who married Christina Brown had come to Blairgowrie from Logierait (my gg grandparents); the one who married Margaret Spalding was of a Blairgowrie/Kirkmichael family.
Butter (& variants); Laverock (& variants); Hay; Braid [mostly ANS, PER, FIF]
Rusby; Appleyard; Taylor [mostly all YKS]
and a lot more
