Looks a bit like a map that she is holding.

Agree it does look like a map but the texture/lines that make it seem so appear on the rest of the picture. On my PC, at any rate. She's obviously very pleased to have got it - an award or membership to something, perhaps?
Taken in the 1880's I would say as the puffy sleeve has not appeared, unless she is slightly behind the fashion and is not wearing fashionable clothes. Which would make the relaxed pose more likely for a later date - say 1890 to early 1900's.
not very helpful, I know but older people make it dfficult by not keeping up with fashion. I certainly don't.

Regards

AJ

Sorry but those aren't 1880s sleeves...about 1905 or so. It might be helpful if we could see the whole thing please including the outer corners of the mount. There won't be anything on the back.

Cheers,

Agree with China & may even be up to WW1 depending on how fashionable she was.

Dear Jason,

no feedback up to now, has she been YWCA member or activist?

I would say 1910 to 1925. I would also guess she wears an employer's uniform and she holds her new contract of employment; at the big house ?

Thank you Neil,

it could be a contract, nice idea!
According to our experts the dating is a little bit earlier.
