Hi

Would anyone below to lookup the details from the marraige certificate of:

James Ellis married Caroline Lever 21st July 1845 at St Marys Oldham certificate number CE235/6/402

I am trying to identify James's fathers name or anything else available

Many thanks in anticipation

Hi

James Ellis, a bachelor & Caroline Lever, a spinster married 21st July 1845.  James was an Overlooker in Factory. Caroline was the daughter of William Lever, a labourer, no father named for James. Both were shown as Full Age and address for both bride and groom is just given as Oldham.

The Parish Register image is on Ancestry in Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930

Hi Andy

Thanks for that quick work! What do you make of the absence of James's fathers name on the certificate?!

Jo :)

Hi

My first thought is that he was illegitimate but you would need to research further to try to confirm this.
