Oldbury PRs for the 1840s
« on: Friday 18 July 14 12:28 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to discover if my great x 3 grandfather was actually my great x 3 grandmother's first husband or 2nd husband.  I've always thought it was the 2nd but now believe its the 1st.

Can anyone tell me if there are any online resources that have baptisms and burials for parish records for Oldbury which cover the 1840s?  Or, is there any disk I could purchase with these records on them?

I've always thought that my great x 2 grandmother was called Harriet Bailey but believe she was actually Harriet Smith.  I've ordered a birth certificate today of a Harriet Smith born in 1849 which I believe is her.

What I would dearly like to find is a burial for Henry Smith who I know this is her father.  I have a feeling he died in the March quarter of 1849.  The family were living in Oldbury in 1841 and his remarried wife Eliza (now Bailey) is still there in 1851.   Henry and Eliza had a few children during the 1840s before Harriet was born and the baptism PRs would be really useful for me to find out these children.

Many thanks in advance.
