Hi,

Do you have a BRACKENBERRY marrying a FLOWERS?

I have a direct ancestors younger brother marrying a BRACKENBERRY.

Without checking off the top of my head it would be Benjamin FLOWERS and Naomi BRACKENBERRY

Cheers,

Hello Darren

You give no time frame but I haven't found a FLOWERS nor are there any Naomis in the family. Having said that I have found very little on this line anyway. My 2x Gt Grandmother was Eliza BRACKENBURY who was baptised in 1833 in Spalding. She married Charles SKETCHER in 1852.

Eliza's parents were Benjamin BRACKENBURY, born 1808 I don't know where, died in 1843 in Spalding, who married Ann BOWMAN in 1832 in Spalding.

I'm sorry I can't help.

Regards

Brenda

Hi,

I am also new to Rootschat.

I have a Joseph Brackenbury born about 1785 presumably in Lincolnshire. He married Frances Parkinson in 1811 in Wainfleet All Saints, Lincs.

Hello Karen

I'm afraid I know so little about my Brackenbury family. I have a Benjamin born about 1808 but I don't know where. He married Ann Bowman in 1832 in Spalding and died in 1843 in Spalding. Unfortunately, he & Ann only had 3 daughters (that I know of): Eliza 1833 (my Gt Gt Grandmother), Ann 1836 & Mary 1838.

Sorry I can't help but maybe our paths will cross again in the future. If you find  a Benjamin born c1808 I would certainly like to know.

Good luck

Brenda

I have Askews from Bourne as direct ancestors also.  Not much info on them though.

Jane Askew born 1802 married Thomas Morton (1822) and had a daughter Jane Morton in 1824.

Jane Askew was the daughter of John Askew and Jane Hawgood (1773) and I believe she had the following siblings:
Edward 1798; Elizabeth 1800; John 1804.

Does this relate in any way to your Askews?

I think it very likely we are related but I have no knowledge of my Askew family other than my 6x Gt Grandmother, Martha ASKEW, married John ELSOM in 1720 in Bourne.

Sorry I can't help you but if you come across a Martha born about 1700 I would love to hear from you.

Hi Brenda

I came across this info in regards to the surname Brackenbury in the Images of England" Grantham Revisited" by Fred Leadbetter ISBN 0 7524 3825 5 page 86.

A Doreen Brackenbury and her nephew Jackie are shown outside her shop on Bridge End Road Grantham which the Brackenbury's have run before the First World War until the 1950s. The photo was from the 1920s.

Incidentally I had been in that shop when I was school girl.
