Brenda or Anne...
I was wondering if you could help me? I also have some WRIGHT ancestors from Suffolk (although mostly from Sudbury I think).
Apparently there was a John Wright born ~1838 (so a bit later than the John Wright you discuss, but potentially a relative?), first wife Hannah Richardson and 2nd Esther Jarves. He had a sister called Jane Wright, and had 8 children all up:
Susan Martha Wright, born ~1868 in Stambourne, Suffolk. Married Lenton Coote Green.
Polly Wright
3rd child died at birth with mother
Frank Edward Wright
Arthur Wright, who married Florence Theobald
Florence Wright
Frederick Wright
Albert Olanda Wright, who married Elizabeth Southgate

I know it's a long-shot, but does this family happen to match up at all with any of your Wright's? Would be greatly interested, as is an area of my family tree that appears to be lacking!

Hello

I do have a John Wright born on 12 Jan 1837, bap 25 Jun 1837 in Clopton, son of James Wright & Mary Cracknell. However I do not know what became of him, he is only a twig on my tree. Somehow I doubt he's yours because the children's forenames do not match at all. My John's siblings were Hannah, George, William, Emma, Aaron, Clara, Alfred and Ann.

Regards

Brenda

Hi Brenda
I have been doing some more research and have found this.
Eliza King born Rattlesden in 1813, father George King, married into my rice tree in 1841, married James Rice. and the family must have lived in Rattlesden as this is where Eliza died in 1878.
I have both her marriage cert and her death cert if you need any more info.
Thanks.
William James.

Hello William

I don't have this Eliza King in my records. Is she the daughter of George King & Sarah Stribling who married in Preston St Mary?

Regards

Brenda

Hi Brenda

I think James Wright (born 1860) married Elizabeth Wright. They had children Ellen, William, May, Walter and Annie. They lived in Clopton in 1911. I'm interested in Annie (born 1898) who is listed at a mothers help on the 1911 census. She may be my grandmother.

Does this ring any bells?

Nicola

Hello Nicola

I'm afraid I know nothing about my James Wright other than he was born about 1860 in Clopton and was a Carpenter. He is my Gt Grandmother's brother and son of William W. and Susan Olden (or Holden).

I find the Wright surname almost impossible to research, there are so many of them in Suffolk.

Sorry I can't help.

Regards

Brenda

Welcome to Rootschat Louise, I'm just down the road in Fram  ;)

There were also Wright family in Fram, esp Fiddler Wright who ran a pianoforte establishment in the mid 1800s in Well Close Square

Pat ...
Every time I find an ancestor,
I have to find two more!

SUFFOLK - Pendle, Stygall, Pipe, Fruer, Bridges, Fisk, Bellamy, Sparham - all link to  Framlingham
DERBY - Bridges and Frost (originally Framlingham/Parham)
NOTTINGHAM - Lambert & Selby
BERKSHIRE/then Hammersmith LDN - Fulker
LDN/MDX - Murray, Clancy, Broker, Hoskins, Marsden, Wilson, Sale

GGfather Michael Wilson born Cork, lived Fulham London - moved to Boston USA 1889, what happened next?
