John Bradshaw. Previous topic.
« on: Thursday 10 July 14 16:46 BST (UK) »
I have previously asked questions re John Bradshaw and had helpful replies and various information has been given or collaborated. He was a ships steward and seems to have disappeared, no record of his death. His family, wife Margaret and daughter Margaret Atkinson Bradshaw spent time in the workhouse, on several occasions, at least once due to his desertion. I ordered information on their workhouse records which I have just received. The last part of the information reads -

"It is unclear whether John Bradshaw was still alive in 1922.  The workhouse
record for Margaret (snr) suggests that he was still alive in August as she was listed as wife of John, steward; however, Margaret Atkinson Bradshaw’s marriage in April 1922, records her father as Walter James Bradshaw (deceased) and on the 1891 he is recorded as John W (or H) Bradshaw.  As you know, he would probably not appear on a census return while at sea."

I have searched for a death record of Walter James Bradshaw and cannot find one. How can it be that researchers believe that he us recorded with two different names! I am confused! Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Hi Juneys1

I see from your posts, there are more than 1 asking for help/information about John Bradshaw.

Do you know how to copy and paste the URLs of the other topics into a topic to prevent duplication of effort and chatters going over old ground and information already supplied?

Hi Dawn, I'm not sure! One of the previous posts I made had a reply which unfortunately someone had searched for info already held, therefore I mentioned the previous posts.
Do I search for previous posts, copy and paste in full as part of my question? I can copy and paste?

Hi

You can do this either of 2 ways

1) search on the term John Bradshaw and put your user name in the other box

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=search

or you can go to your profile and look at all your posts, you only have a few pages here to look through and there may be some that don't have John Bradshaws name in them but might still be relevant

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=212039

which ever method, once you have identified a relevant post, open it up and then copy & paste the URL from the top of the screen into here

I'll start you off with this one referring to overseas death records

Ok, thanks Dawn, I have had a look and can't find the URl links you show. I will look again tomorrow as no time at present. Will hopefully find them tomorrow. Thanks again.
