Picture now been put into question as to when and where James Warnaby

Looking for abit of insight to possibly answering do you think this picture is in UK , Im not aware that this man travelled out of the UK but have just been told it looks like the picture was taken in Ontario Canada ????   And that it cant possibly be my 3x Grt Grandad because of the hat ....

Hi, first thought was that the house is not a "Typical" UK house, I'm sure others will be along to give views, the picture does seem to have a American/Canadian look to it

It's not usual to have clap board houses in England but I have seen some old ones along the years.  As for the hat, I have a 1920 photo of a similar one worn by an Englishman.  The only difference is yours has been well handled.... see what you think.

thanks Rena , just had to ask because i felt like i was so wrong saying about where and when the picture taken . i did wonder why cant UK have houses like that .

I have a photo of my Canadian uncle, he is wearing a hat that matches exactly, especially the dents in the side.

Has anyone any thoughts about the post and wires sticking out of the roof on the top right of the picture, I have never seen that here in the uk, and my phone and electricity are supplied overhead
