Thanks for that 100%Gog.... very true, made me smile  :)  ...multiple backups in multiple formats in multiple physical locations. A few minutes effort to secure years of work.

BTW CD-ROMS are not good long term storage (they use an ink layer and this can deteriorate) so either re-copy them every couple of years or put the data onto portable hard drives and store that way.

Thanks Sandra!  ;D

Just logged on to ancestry.com and got on OK...I tried to open my family tree, it did not open at first but once I refreshed the page it opened OK...photos and all! ;D

I also tried to log on to ancestry.co.uk but that site did not open but that could be due to my earlier stupidity of deleting the cookies and cache for that site.

Thanks again! ;D

The deleting cookies and cache of the site would have nothing to do with the log on. Different browsers have no effect either so William was lucky he "fluked" it.  They are still working on trying to get ancestry.co.uk up and running but obviously the amount of people trying to access it is slowing things down and timing people out.  Not as many people are logging onto ancestry.com

WRJones may have fluked it with firefox, but if you clear your cookies (or always log out) it will have logged you out.  They appear to have problems with the login part of the site, I've been on the site off and on all day but I leave myself logged in (hence having a cookie in place).  It may be WRJ had a firefox cookie that worked but google chrome and IE didn't.
