Births NI where to go prior 1864
« on: Monday 16 June 14 08:53 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Re my gt gt grandfather charles Campbell I want to find his birth record. Where can I search prior to 1864?
I know his father was also Charles Campbell. He was married in Trinity Church in Belfast (which no longer exists) and his burial record states that he was 32 yrs old when he died in 1886, which makes his birth @1854.
The only thing I can think of is to search Trinity Church records for a baptism. Where would these records be held?

Many thanks for reading  :)

Hi,
The link given by Rathmore gives the child's father as James Campbell.

Although the original Holy Trinity CoI church at Clifton St was destroyed in the blitz in WWII, an new church was built at Oldpark Road which continues to operate.  Their records from 1844 are on microfilm at PRONI ref MIC 253/4
