Why do websites not remember me?
« on: Thursday 12 June 14 07:40 BST (UK) »
For the last week or so websites where I tick the box to "remember me" are not remembering me.

Each morning I have to sign in. I always tick remember me. It makes no difference. It is happening on more than one site.

It is something I just have to put up with? As I say, only a recent thing.

Thank you
Genie

Hi

Are you running any "maintenance" software to "clean nternet cache"? (Term used in its loosest sense)

thank you Brian and Carol

I have not touched any settings, as I would not know how

there have been no problems with this computer since purchased about a year ago, until the last couple of weeks, it just started not remembering me. Even though ticked the box to say remember me.

I am on IE. I wonder if a move to Firefox would help?

thanks again
Genie

As a confirmed user of Firefox, I am pleased with it's resulting quick search.
I don't like Internet Explorer in whatever version I have tried, others like IE so no accounting for tastes.
[Using FF I just bookmark a page to remind me, on logging onto a site that requires a username/password I just click onto 'remember details'.]
Nb others like Chrome, never tried that.
