Just for anyone researching this family i thought i would put up this Very rare survivor,
Hugh Gill chemist 7 old market Halifax, i have not been able to find little about him but should date from the early 1840's
The Pharmaceutical society was founded in 1841 and became the ROYAL Pharmaceutical Society in 1843
so i am guessing this could be the date range for the bottle
