Wills are a very different category to parish registers. There are tiers of jurisdictions of where wills were proved. If the person only had property in Suffolk the will was most likely proved at Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds - the Archdeaconry of Suffolk or the Archdeaconry of Sudbury respectively.

https://www.suffolkarchives.co.uk/collections/getrecord/GB173_IC_AA1

Broadly speaking, if the person was of higher status or had property in both Suffolk and Norfolk, the will was proved at Norwich.

For the top tier for people of much higher status or had property in multiple places in the southern part of England, those wills were proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury (PCC) in London.

So for Suffolk people there are at least three places to look for wills. Suffolk Archives/The Hold/soon to be digitised on Ancestry. Norfolk/Norwich many of which are on FamilySearch. PCC wills on Ancestry, The National Archives and elsewhere.

Subject to corrections if there are any.

For Suffolk wills I have found a good few on the National Archives site. Sign in with an account and they are free to download.

This all reminds me of when I sat waiting for the 1921 census to become available at midnight on FindMyPast.

Fingers crossed Occold and Hoxne have beautifully clear and well structured registers... One can only hope!!

This was a good little video to see how they did all the digitisation. Thanks for sharing that.

They may not be available until tomorrow afternoon or something in the UK, considering the UK is several hours in front of America time wise. I know we do have Ancestry.co.uk even if the main company is American.

I hope not... I've set my alarm for 5am to make an early start.  :)

They appear to be online already!

Already found an ancestor in Iken, which previously seemed to be almost entirely unavailable online. Chuffed!

I was just going to post that Cambridgeshire Archives didn't post until after 3pm on their Facebook page when their registers went live on 17 July, so may be similar time.

But Lewis21 is correct, they're visible through the Card Catalog, they weren't earlier cos I had a look :-)

Drats going to have to try and finish work earlier tomorrow ...

The registers have now appeared on Anc.... I have successfully found some of my original ancestor records.

One trick I have learned is to hold your mouse (cursor) on the "view record" in any list that appears and wait till a window opens and then select  .. The original is revealed.

Earlier attempts I found would show nothing found. They may have cleared this bug by now.
