I wonder whether they will be quietly 'launched' sometime today to avoid a massive rush and 'technical issues' tomorrow morning?

Although I suppose the scale isn't quite on a par with the 1921, 1911 and 1901 censuses.

(it just feels like that for those of us who've been waiting a very long time :) )

At least some of these are included with the Norfolk collection on Ancestry, e.g. Lowestoft, Kirkley. I assume they were part of that diocese rather than Ipswich or St Edmundsbury.

Thanks very much. That seems to answer that then. Can't believe the release is almost here!

The only annoucements I receive are for DNA sales... for which, when you want to link results with your tree they want even  more money.

I'm SO excited! This thread started in 2014. Our impatience is about to be rewarded 🙂.

I can't believe it has taken that long to get to this stage as even with covid and the hold these records should have been online years ago but I am another one that can not wait until tomorrow.

Suffolk Archives/Suffolk County Council must have foregone at least £xx000s of online royalties during that decade. How short sighted.

I think one of the issues is that local authorities don't get that much revenue out of ancestry digitising their records. I think this was why Essex did their own thing.

I also thought Suffolk, or some of it, was also in the Diocese of Norwich, as many of my Suffolk lot had wills proved at the Norwich Consistory Court, and marriage licenses/allegations through the Norwich Consistory Court.
