I know this is an old post, but I am very interested in this family. Joseph Grimshaw (who married Jane Bamber), son of Joseph and Peggy is my 3 x gt grandfather. Joseph junior's daughter Hannah married Blake Jepson and this is my line. I wonder if you have found any more info going back?

Also, there is a curious bastardy case involving Blake, and a Susan Walmsley (possibly cousin of Hannah?). It appears Susan later married William Walmsley, Hannah's brother.  I am still trying to sort this out.

I  haven't used Rootschat much - I don't think I am allowed to send PMs yet, so hope you will reply on here

Hi, this Daniel Walmsley 1985 my family tree from Lancaster, Scotforth 1900, galgate, Ellel 1840s and from chipping. My family tree is from that area. They all worked in the mills in the areas in 1800s. It just get a bit cold in the 1800 in chipping or Goosnargh 1800s.
Joseph walmsley 1846 + Dorothy Ann W
John walmsley 1805 + hannah Walmsley
James walmsley + alice
Maybe joseph walmsley 1735/1783 +
Jane Gudgeon.
It's all a guess from john+hannah from chipping.

Thanks
