Thanks for your replies. Harrisons are found in the 1734 and 1766 census for Ballentoy. A James Harrison in 1766, hence why I am concentrating on Ballentoy at the moment. Since the parish records haven't survived back to those years, the Vestry minutes have. If any members go regularly to PRONI, I will gladly pay a reasonable fee to have the Vestry microfilm looked from 1713-1767ish, year that my James Harrison is alleged to have come to the United States. Thanks

Danny

http://sources.nli.ie

Copy of confirmation of arms to the descendants of Capt James Harrison whose father, James Harrison, removed from Co Antrim to South Caroline America in 1767 and to the great grandson of the said Capt James, being Lt Col Walter Archibald Harrison Dec 9, 1935

you can type in search box MS4173 or MS114 or James Harrison

I guess these are your relatives have you seen this before?

Why was he removed from Co Antrim?

Hello

Thanks for these links. I managed to find a church record for the baptism on a James Harrison, son of James and Annie on November 6th, 1740 in DUBLIN (COI) , Parish/Church/Congregation - ST. CATHERINE. This one is interesting.

Not sure why James Harrison left for the United States. In some old books I have gone through, it mentions that both Charles and James had been officers in the Army prior to coming to the US. This could explain why they sided with the British during the American Revolution.
