Hi all..!

I have finally found some information on my husband's grandfather's war record other than seeing him in a photo which states he was in the RFA football team  ;D

FindMyPast has his attestation info but I would like some help regarding the medal which is handwritten.
I can see that he received the British War and Victoria medals along with 1914-1915 star, but can anyone enlighten me on the hand written entry.

At first glance I would saw it was Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (LS&GC Medal).

Ahh.. yes that looks like it, he joined in 1902 and discharged  in April 1923

Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, along with Victory and British War medals.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

many thanks for confirmation KG,

I am so chuffed to have found this document today, I knew he was still in the army after 1920 as he is listed as a solder on my MIL's birth cert, hence nothing found in the usual military records on Ancestry etc.,

At last I now have his service number which means I can can order his records.

21 years service should hold a few interesting facts :)
