You have misunderstood what I said. Probably I dd not check my punctuation!

I said ;-"The bread and wine served as a reminder of the last supper(,) when Jesus was betrayed( ,)to Protestants". Meaning a reminder to protestants , not that he was betrayed to protestants.   The commas- or lack of them -totally altered the meaning.
He was, as you say  betrayed to The Sanhedrin, Caiaphas was the Chief Priest of that body.

It would hve been bettter had I said " To Protestants the bread and wine serve as a reminder of the last supper when Jesus was betrayed". My apologies. I ought to have checked.Viktoria.

My thanks to those who have increased my knowledge (I did say I was no expert!).  Having been brought up as a Methodist and then Baptist in rather bare churches, I went with my gut feeling rather than on proper evidence - a cardinal sin in genealogical research!  :-X

Hi,

Are the photos not of St Bartholomew, Winstone - the church where he was Rector?

There were some photos etc., sold recently described as
ANTIQUE PHOTOGRAPH ALBUMS REV HAYWARD & BEALE FAMILY WINSTONE MINCHINHAMPTON

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTIQUE-PHOTOGRAPH-ALBUMS-REV-HAYWARD-amp-BEALE-FAMILY-WINSTONE-MINCHINHAMPTON-/151299475299?nma=true&si=P0VgKLwU78UOIhBlN8GM6PMosHg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Look at the fancy top to the front pew on photo from e-bay and the one submitted to this site.

Google search will find present day photos of this  C of E Church
