OK but have you checked out this Charles King 1881 onwards?
I believe I have read elsewhere on RC that if you do not mention the volume and page number, and specify if only father Thomas, then you will not be charged if father is not Thomas? Hopefully someone will confirm if my understanding is correct!

Why not the possible marriage cert?

I've got the marriage certificate of Charles & Rosanna, who my father knew was his grandmother. So that confirmed that Charles' father was called Thomas.
The census records I've been able to find of Charles have had his birthplace as being Bath, Somerset. So I'm hoping if I purchase the birth certificate that I've found for him (5c, 674), then it will show Thomas as his father & also provide his mother's name.

Other than that, I'm completely lost as to find out any more about this man. :(
