Hi

Have been doing a bit more research and have noticed that our families rub shoulders. Have you researched any of Sarah Trickey family. Sarah married John Townsend, the witness a John trickey who was also a witness to My jane Trickey, sister Elizabeth, maybe Sarah was also their sister.

hope this message gets to you

There was nothing at all for a Thomas birth in the Prescott Chapel records.  All seemed to be as per the IGI.  However I have made a note of Fry deaths as well which are not on IGI if you would like them.
It might be worth your while to still get out the Spiceland (Quaker) records.  There is nothing to say that your Thomas wasn't born into a quaker family and then changed to the Prescott chapel as an adult.  (Leaves no stone unturned) However be prepared that in all likelihood there won't be a birth record.  There were times where the minister wrote in the register that it hadn't been kept, and basically he couldn't remember! Incidentally I have photos of this chapel taken earlier this year.
I have no doubt our ancestors rubbed shoulders in past history.  My gg grandfather James had a brother John that also married a Trickey, and 2 of their children's births are registered at Prescott.  Like you I am trying to pinpoint her family.

Hi
My more recent research leads me to the conclusion that the John Townsend that married Sarah Trickey is not in my direct line of Townsend.  The John that is in my line, I believe did not marry, and is buried in Timberscombe Somerset where his younger brother Henry took up residence.

Hi There.. I'm not sure exactly how we are tied in but I am related to Fry's from Culmstock.. Robert Fry who married a Matilda and moved to Hackney. Also, there must be a link with the Fry's and my Manning family also from Culmstock.

How about parents John Fry b 1761 and Sarah Dinham b 1777 Culmstock? Or Thomas Winsborrow Fry b 1792 and Jane Trickey b 1799 parents George Fry and Mary Winsborrow?
Think there are quite a lot of related Frys in the area.
Good luck!

I am hoping that this forum might help. I’m a Fry, born in Canada, My father is John Fry, born in Canada, his father Earl born in Canada, his father John born in Culmstock in 1858 but died in Canada. His father was John b. 1818 (married Ann Milton) of Culmstock, with siblings Robert and Mary. Their father was John b. 1790, married Suzanna Gay. John’s father was Richard, but it ends there. Don’t know Richard’s lineage or wife. Any help appreciated – especially for my Dad – now 90.
