Morgan family from S. Wales to Pennsylvania
« on: Friday 16 May 14 01:53 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for any information about the time they spent in USA and family information of Ivor Morgan and his wife Mary, & daughter Enid, who travelled to Pennsylvania and lived there between 1927 and 1933 before returning to Wales.
So, I thought perhaps, if I post the information below - which is all we have of this period of their lives -, it might be possible to find information relating to their stay in USA. Ivor was initially going to a Cousin, W.H. Kess or Kees, at 1273 Birbeck St., Freeland, PA. That's all I know about him.

I have details of their lives before and after the event in Wales and their family history, so it is just information regarding the Pennsylvania time that I am looking for.
 Many thanks

IFOR MORGAN  was born in 1900, in S.Wales, to William Morgan and Mary Jane Morgan.
Ifor Morgan, aged about 20, married Mary Louise Lambert, aged about 16, in June 1921 in Bedwellty,Monmouthshire.

MARY LOUISE LAMBERT  was born about 1904, in Gelligaer Parish, Glamorgan, Wales, to Thomas
Henry Lambert and Louisa Thomas

Mary and Ifor had two children:

ENID M MORGAN was born in March 1922, in Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, to Ivor Morgan and Mary Louise Morgan [Lambert]
NOTE: Enid later emigrated to Canada (Montreal/Ottowa, I think. She had a son Michael).

ERIC MORGAN was born in 1936 to Ivor Morgan and Mary Louise Morgan [Lambert], Wales

In case it helps, Lyzernectt should be Luzerne Cty.   Luzerne County is where Freeland is located.

1930 Philadelphia city directory:
Morgan, Ivor L. (Mary), home 2731 S. Fairhill

Hi, I have just today started researching William Morgan of Tirphil. I found his funeral details with some family papers. He was living at 22, Graig Rhymney, Tirphil. Died January 9th 1912. Aged 56.
I'm not sure yet how he is related to me but I shall investigate.

'fraid I can't help with William but will be interested to know if he fits into the family tree and his relation to Ifor Morgan, if you find one.
I found that the Tredegar website is a good place to ask for information sometimes. There are some knowledgeable people there about the history of the area.
Good luck.
