I have a several relatives working in the Royal dockyards Plymouth 1820/1900s and beyond according to the census forms some were superanuated pensioners ,my query is, were would I find out more about them/it.Who would have paid them their pension and what records are left if any ,who would I contact etc,I have their addresses and family details to a point .Many Thanks for your time  Tsumi :)

Hi Tsumi,

Their pension would have been paid by the Admiralty.  Pension records are at the National Archives at Kew.  Have you tried searching the online catalogue
http://www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk/default.asp

Put your relatives names into the search engine and see if it comes up with anything. 

Also have a look at the various research guides that they have on the site:

It will help get you started.
