Is anyone able to look at the burial pages index - grave No. KK2710 Romford Cemetary

It should be for my grandfather John Cox d.1973 but I have pulled back Amelia Maria LeMire in that plot also. Confused as this is not any relative at all. 

Would like to see John Cox's registry image if possible to confirm I got it write. This is for a future visit to the site unless someone goes there regularly and can take a photo. which would save me a 600 mile round trip

I did Liz, hence I realised I needed to move the topic to a more location specific thread where someone local may have a better idea.

The link you gave was to the cemetery office website. I dont want to buy a plot nor discuss funeral arrangements which that site is tailored to. I dont need bereavement advice either but thank you for trying. There is no archive information advice or service on that website and any historic information will be held by a registry somewhere.

I was trying to avoid a lengthy thread but i'll have to explain further due to my stupidity and other issues ...

I am doing a project on my grandfather and am trying to follow his life from cradle to grave. This will later be passed to the rest of may family who are largely clueless as to his life as he was quite a solitary man.

So having been stumped in some areas for now though it is being slowly sorted with a great deal of help, I thought I had better retrieve his final resting place details. Hence here we are. The problems began when I searched deceased online.

Deceased online or EE or Apple have not sorted their certificates/permissions/ whatever to enable one piece of kit to read info correctly off the other. I purchased credit which whilst small £5.00 minimum is not exactly for me throw away money.

I wasnt able to view the website through any mobile device. It shows as "We are not able to show the real deceasedonline website due to certficiate issues please contact them direct"

Well I did find a way round this eventually but it only worked the once. The site obviously does not like mobile devices or has not configured its site correctly to accept all mobile devices but I would rather this thread didnt drift off into that.

I found my grandfather and managed to load up the registry page ... using my credit ... £1.50 to click on him and look at the reference page showing grave number .... £2.00 to check the digitised image. Credit gone. Well all but 1.50. However the image I was shown does not show him at all. Its shows the woman I mention in the grave plot. Confused I clicked back - which does not require contact with the website as the image is held in the web browser cookies and what did I find ... a link stating "my grandfathers name + one other". Same plot number. It seems I had clicked on hers though I am not totally sure.

SOoooo as she is not a relative (well not as far as I am aware and I have all of them now) why. If the plot is huge and takes in several people well then it makes sense. It would be nice to have grandads register image but at least I can visit his plot and so this project I am doing will be accurate. She is stated as a widow and is much older than my grandfather was when he died. He seems to have been buried in the plot next to her or worse, above her. But grandads wife wasnt her. And hence the information I have asked for.

I hope that explains it in detail  This was 1973 and the government link isnt going to help in this instance.

Bereavement Services is an umbrella name for the whole department which has many functions.

As the records are held at Havering you should contact them and tell them you have a problem with the service offered by DeceasedOnline as well as contacting DecasedOnline and telling them you are unhappy with their service for which you have paid.

You will see more details about the burial records at Havering on this link as well as contact details.

As you already have all the details they require such as name of deceased, date and place of burial and plot number, I'm sure they will be amenable to your request for more information but there may be a time delay as their priority will be dealing with the more recently bereaved.

Thank you for clarification. I saw the link initially and just thought ohhhh no. I know where that will lead. Round and round and round ... "You need to go to deceased online", "You need to go the The National Archive", "You need to hire an expert" etc etc. I requested a search by the national archive recently and they refused lol saying it would take too long and I needed to come in person sigh. So I just couldnt go down that rout when I suspected someone may have a quick local knowledge reply. I will just blanket request at that link then and report back what happens in a few weeks.

I suggest you do ring the "bereavement" number given in the link.
I had a query about my great grandparents grave  a while ago and the staff there were very helpful indeed.

Update -

According to a lovely email I received back today this is the details - I'll post the reply as it will clarify in their words the reasons -

 Please accept my apologies for the length of time it has taken for us to reply to your enquiry.

"Your Grandfather is indeed laid to rest in the above grave and I have asked the cemeteries supervisor to email me a photo which I will forward to you.  The burial plot was an un-purchased one which explains why there was another burial in the grave about which you were unaware;  they were laid to rest 3 March 1931.

It was commonplace in the past for families to use such graves."

In fact in the photos supplied (taken personally by the clerk for me), show all the people buried there were buried initially at 9' 6" and the next buried above as in my grandads case at 6'. On some there is even a burial above that at 4' 3" deep. So that answers that in case it happens to crop up for anyone else. Thanks again for your advice guys. As always it was exactly what I needed and would recommend anyone else to contact them if needed because they were very quick I think. And very helpful as the letter shows - going above and beyond.
