My Great Grandfather was Robert Dawson who lived in Malvins House Blyth.  The house was built and named by its first occupant Malvin who was a ship owner.  Robert Dawson lived in the house for about 25 years or more whilst he was chief engineer for The Cowpen Coal Co. until his death in 1895.  His eldest son Robert lived in the nearby cottage.
