 Scotmum,
That's good.     Your quick post has saved me looking further for something that isn't there - thanks for that!      ...I was assuming that if she died with the name Brannan then that was her last married name.        I can't have looked at it properly.

This is possibly irrelevant to ocian-c, but the brother of this same  Ellen Brannan married my relative.
Her last name was also Brannan but as far as I can tell, there is no familial connection.

Which family are you researching, Ellen's or her Cassidy husband?

Hi, my grandfather's brother is the Patrick Cassidy that was married to Ellen (Nellie) Brannan.

They were married at S Mungo's Church, Glasgow on 18 April 1911.
He was an Iron Foundry Labourer and she was a Tobacco Stripper.
He lived at 23 Turner St and she lived at number 10 Turner St.

His father was Patrick Cassidy and mother Jane Kerr.
Her father was Peter Brannan and mother Bridget McIlwain.

Catherine Brennan and Thomas McLaughlin were the witnesses and the celebrant was Paul O'Neill.

Patrick was killed in WW1 and Ellen (Nellie) did remarry.
I am trying to find information on my grandfather's brother from my family tree research and would appreciate if anyone could assist as so far I have had no success. My mother tells me that he was killed at the Somme.

Cheers
