There were requests re this family back in April 2009 with lots of info discussed & found.

I have recently moved to an old house in Yoxford, Suffolk & in doing some house history research I find that Margaret & Ann Donaldson, born Cheswick/Northumberland lived here & are I think buried in the churchyard. i found a ref to this & their father being John Strangeways Donaldson. googling him brought me to rootschat with all the fascinating info on the family. The sisters were here together in 1881 aged 55 and 54 and Ann alone in 1891 after Margaret died.

Can anyone tell me more about them? What brought them to Suffolk? Did they have an occupation here? On the census they are 'Living on Own Means' with one domestic servant. They are listed in Yoxford in Kelly's in 1879 but not it seems in this house. Any more information would be very gratefully received.
