Help with inscription on photo (German)
« on: Wednesday 30 April 14 10:47 BST (UK) »
Trying to decipher the first three words on this photograph.

I can read below: London 27/9/1864 Dein E Bobardt.
And I can read the lines written on the short side as ... Auf ein fröhliches Wiedersehen in Amerika

Thanks for your help.
Marianne

Auf ein fröhliches Wiedersehen in Amerika
im lieben (cosy) Burgdorf.

London 27/9/1864
Dein E Bobardt.

Some years too early for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgdorf,_Idaho.

Best regards

And there is a town in Switzerland ...
but there might have been several places "Burgdorf" in the States,

somewhere in the WWW you will find a database with geographical names in the USA.
