Firstly my most sincere apologies Steve to only getting back to you now. Life got in the way ! Secondly thank you so much for all the wonderful information about Thomas and I totally agree with Sandy, just 'brill' work.
Yes that is Thomas on the 1911 census home on leave. And I have been checking for any service records and I can only find the 4 pages on FindMyPast the same as Mary Taylor, but so great to even find them. And yes they say he joined the regiment in 1906. It was also great to read his personal description on them.
I have requested a photo of Thomas's memorial and Frederick's grave but then later while searching the internet I actually came across a photo of Thomas's memorial from someone who was researching the name below his on the memorial. It was quite moving to suddenly come across it.
