Edmund and Joseph Cahill - convicts transported to West Aust 1853

I have just stumbled on this thread ... Edmund Cahill was my gg grandfather and I am that person "in cyberspace" who is researching these men. Many thanks to cocksie for turning up that marriage in Carrick-on-Suir - that marriage is certainly one of great interest! The baptisms for both Edmund and Joseph turn up in Limerick. I wonder if tickford is still researching?

Yes I am still researching these men . None the wiser though. Did a I get sidetracked bigtime. 2 yrs before I get back here. Shame on me. Hahahaha.

I have been going over things, a couple of  people have different parents for them. I have emailed a gent who seems to know a fair bit, hopefuly he'll get back to me

As these are not my family I am not about to spend money. They are  actually my daughter in laws 4 x grt grandparents.

I have only slightly dabbled in Irish research, never had luck so far, scares me actually. So many common names.

I have that Trove article.

Hopefully, you will hear from your other source re the Cahill brothers.  For what it is worth, I am fairly comfortable with their parents being John Cahill and Catherine Hainey, Herney etc as mentioned before.  The Cahills' sister migrated to WA in 1850 and her youngest daughter was baptised York RC with these same names being registered as grandparents.
