Andy,

I had not though about copyright. The photos are from the 1920's - 1930's - and are official team photos - so I will check with some one as to what I can do with them.

Thank You

Jean

Normally copyright lasts for 70 years after the year of publication so 1920s & 1930s material should be ok

That is true provided the photo used is from that era and not from a more recent publication such as a book or the internet.

Andy

Paul,
I am most impressed with what you are doing.

Thank you for the advice, but I do not understand "resist the temptation to insert blank lines with the 'enter' key.

Jean

And thank you to everyone else who commented.

Even if I am indulging in "Vanity Publishing" it is a very pleasant part of genealogy and family and social history.

Regards
Jean

Hi Jean. Well, most people just type in paragraphs then hit enter to insert a space before the next paragraph begins - just as you do here when posting. What you need to do is set the 'paragraph style' so each paragraph automatically has space after it (or before it, or before and after it!), so you don't need to press enter before starting a new one.

If you use 'styles' for the titles, paragraphs, footnotes, references etc you can change them all in an instant by changing the style rather than changing each title, paragraph, footnote or reference individually - something which would be slow and error prone if you have anything more than a few pages!. It allows you to experiment with page layout etc easily and is required by the self publishing sites especially if you decide to publish in eBook format as well.

Hope that helps,

Paul
