Thank you for the advice, but I do not understand "resist the temptation to insert blank lines with the 'enter' key.
Hi Jean. Well, most people just type in paragraphs then hit enter to insert a space before the next paragraph begins - just as you do here when posting. What you need to do is set the 'paragraph style' so each paragraph automatically has space after it (or before it, or before and after it!), so you don't need to press enter before starting a new one.
If you use 'styles' for the titles, paragraphs, footnotes, references etc you can change them all in an instant by changing the style rather than changing each title, paragraph, footnote or reference individually - something which would be slow and error prone if you have anything more than a few pages!. It allows you to experiment with page layout etc easily and is required by the self publishing sites especially if you decide to publish in eBook format as well.
