Heneker family

Looking for English roots of Thomas Heneker & wife Jemina came to Port Adelaide Australia on "Hooghly" from London on 17 June 1839 with 7 (?) children. He was my great great grandfather. Would appreciate any info.

Welcome to Rootschat!  ;D

A large family descended into Australia and quite a few are and have researched  Thomas et al.  For example according to the  Obit of their eldest son James, he (James) had 9 children - 4 died as infants or children, while the remaining  3 sons & 2 daughters between them gave James 24 Grandchildren and 40 Great-Grandchildren by the time he died in 1917!

It seems they hailed from Kent, England and Jemima's maiden name was WILLIS.

A Tree has jemima born c 1808 Hothfield, no Parents Named.

Jemima WILLIS Christened 13 Nov 1808, Hothfield, Kent to MICHAEL/MARY
Siblings Christened Westwell, Kent;
MARY, 8 Jan 1804
GEORGE, 21 Sept 1806

Michael WILLESS Married Mary BACK, 10 Oct 1801, St Mary, Westwell, Kent

Familysearch.Org has him as WILLIS on Marriage Record and date as 4 Oct 1801
