I'm not sure where to put this, but I have found something very unusual on a census return...
On the Ireland 1901 Census, a member of the family has been classed as 'Evil' in the Specified Illness column. Can anyone help with the meaning of this?
It does say beneath to 'See Form C' which I presume would have been attached to the original census, but this form isn't available to me.
Any ideas anyone?!
Scrofula, a tuberculous swelling of the lymph glands, was known as "King's Evil" because it could supposedly be cured by the King's touch.
