I'm looking for any information about Mary whitehead. I know she married Robert Howarth and gave birth to a son Charles in 1838 in Heywood. I can't find any records about her other than her name on Charles BC. Any info or suggestion would be a great help!

The 1841 shows eldest child as Edmund aged 10 then a drop of 7yrs to Charles aged 3 so any marriage would be pre-1837.  Both Mary & Robert are shown as aged 30 so allowing for rounding they could be up to 34yrs old

Do you have the family on a later census showing her birthplace?

I haven't yet as I haven't convinced myself that it's the right Mary &Robert.

Is their son Charles your ancestor?  If so - who did Charles marry and when?

You appear to have Charles birth cert - what is Roberts occupation and what was their address on the cert

One of the problems with this surname is that it can be transcribed as Haworth or Heyworth as well as Howarth or Howorth - it's all down to pronunciation and how the enumerator interpreted the surname

Ok on Charles bc it says that his fathers occupation was "hand loom weaver". Their residence is stated as praty wood near heap bridge.  Charles married Mary Ann Hoyle abt 1857 then moved to Canada shortly after.

The 1841 entry shows Robert as a woollen weaver

This is the same family in 1851 and on both censuses - their address matches that on Charles birth cert
