COMPLETED**MORRISH BRICKWALL in Chelsea, early 1800s
« on: Friday 24 June 05 12:57 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I am stuck on a g-g-g-grandmother, Caroline MORRISH.

According to census returns in 51, 61, 71, and 81, she was born in Chelsea around 1811.  She married Joseph Henry INGRAM before 1835, but I don't know where.  Nor do I have any parents' names.

I have been searching for this lady for years, but to no avail.  There seem to be quite a few Morrishes about, but mostly in the west country, or elsewhere in London and I just cannot make a connection.

Can anyone help me?  Perhaps there is a parish record somewhere which mentions her?

Yours in desperation!  :'(

Hi Prue
Just checked the Pallotts marriage index for 1780 - 1837
and although there are 11 Joseph Ingrams married not one married a Caroline Morrish and if I reversed the search, could not find a Caroline Morrish or variation marrying an Ingram.
Sorry,
Cougar

Thank you so much, Cougar - everything about this particular family has driven me nuts for many years, so this result doesn't surprise me!  ;D

Many thanks for taking the time to look.  It's another possibility I can cross off the list.

Oooh Louise, that's very kind of you!  :-*

Have you got the means to scan the cert?  I can send you my email address if so...don't want you to have to post it (unless you are here in Oz and it woudl be cheap).  Can you give me any details off the cert?

Thank you so much for being so generous!
