John Matthews born Pontrhydyfen
« on: Saturday 12 April 14 16:47 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information on John Matthews, who was born in Pontrhydyfen in 1917. John emigrated to South Africa (I don't know the year) and married in SA. John and his wife had 3 children. John died in South Africa sometime in the 1990s. If anyone knows anything about this family, please could you let me know?

Do you  have any more information on John which would help narrow things down?  Possibly his profession or even an inkling of where he might have gone to.   Did he have a middle name?

If you have the names of any of his children that would also help.

Thank you all for your replies. John Matthews's birth was registered in the Neath district in 1917. He was the son of James Matthews and Hannah Matthews (nee Evans). John had a few siblings, one being Catherine, born in 1921.

As I mentioned in my first post, John went to live in South Africa and, I believe, married a girl from that country. I don't have the name of John's wife, but they had three children. Their names being Charmaine, Cheryl and Gwynfryn.
