I think I'd better take to plunge and order a couple of certs to see what they say.
IN any case to lose so many babies, one after the other and two wives is just mind-numbingly tragic.Dreadful for the man but there was also his first son who lived to witness all this loss whilst he was growing up.

Ayashi, thanks for the enquiry.
Looking into this is on my List for this winter but I've not got round to it yet.
I really must get back to my ancestors.
I'll try to post any interesting findings.
