A bit more of a rant  :)  why not  ???

I know it is free, and I am grateful for that  :-*

but..... If they would just put some explanation on the site when it is having problems,

maybe some bright spark would be able to say

" I know how to deal with that, I will volunteer a few hours to sort it for them"

ever the optimist  ;D   Eilleen.

Also the Library gave Lincoln uni the right to upload "The Echo" etc including after 1911

but they are sitting on them  ??? ??? ??? ???  that was another rant  ;)

I do hope they don't sit on them for long..... I find the microfiche copies at the library so difficult to read and can only look for about 20 mins before i have to give up!

I'm in agreement with you there Jo. The microfiche at the Central library is so poor, I presume from so much use. I found the quality of the Chronical and Mercury on FindMyPast to be excellent, trouble is since their so called 'Improved Site' was introduced last month I've decided not to renew my subscription. So I'm up the proverbial.  ::)
