Family Gough from Larne living in Higher Openshaw early 1900's?
« on: Tuesday 01 April 14 15:56 BST (UK) »
I have traced a number of family from Larne to Manchester. I have found Elsie and Mary living in Conway Street Higher Broughton in 1911 census. But 4 brothers in the forces have given their address as 38 Edward Street Higher Openshaw, Manchester. An obituary for one of them states their parents are at this address. Can anyone shed any light on how I can find any street directories with names of residents at that time.
If a William and Margaret are found in Manchester, it means I have made a few mistakes in my genealogy research as I have William's death in Larne in 1895.

Grateful for any help.
Tess

Any birthyears for the parents?

Elsie married Edward Minor in 1905 as per above - so 1911 entry is under Minor

The obit was for John Richard who died in 1918. The other brothers were Samuel who died in WW1 in 1914, James who died in WW1 in 1916 and Stephen who invalided out and went to Canada. I have all their births and marriage certs but a recent new friendship with a distant cousin sent me the obit cutting which states Margaret and William from Manchester. They were born in Wales and moved to Larne in 1878

Heather

Yes this is James and I have all his war records, thanks. It is just the Manchester links I am after and if I could get the residents of 38 Edward Street it would solve so many missing links.
I have been helped by people on here before under the Antrim board and also the Belfast forum, so its just this last bit that I cannot find.
