Can anyone shed any light on what happened to Harold Stockley
He was born on 17 Nov 1897 at Lewell, West Knighton, Dorchester, Dorset - the illegitimate son of Alice Stockley - baptised on 9 Jan 1898 at West Knighton.
As far as I can see he just disappears after this date.

What happened to Ailce?  Maybe she married and Harold used his stepfather (or father, if she married his father) 's surname .

If my research is correct Alice (Harold's mother) went off to London and on both 1901 & 1911 census records was working as a domestic servant in Middlesex. No trace of her ever being married
