Jardine- Banbridge, County Down

I am looking for help tracing ancestors of my great-grandfather, William Jardine, b1879 in Banbridge. Father James Jardine- possibly a farmer, mother Sarah Marshall. William moved to Rothesay, Isle of Bute around 1900. Siblings were Sarah, Ellen, Jane, John, Margaret and Thomas. John may have continued farming with his father, James according to census. Sarah Marshall died around 1890- I can't find anything about her parentage, or where she was born.
James Jardine/Jarden parents possibly called James and Margaret- all Presbyterians- did they have other children.

Sarah Marshall married James Jardine in Downshire Road Presbyterian Church, Newry on 25 October 1872, her father's name was Hugh Marshall.

Griffiths Valuation has a Hugh Marshall in the townland of Aughnacaven in the civil parish of Donaghmore (print date 1864):

The following link shows a Sarah Marshall born 1851 as the daughter to father Hugh Marshall and Jane McGaffen in the townland of Tullymurry in the civil parish of Donaghmore:

There is nothing else yet to indicate if these references are your Marshalls, just to note for the meantime until you can rule in or out.

Thank you so much- I had struggled to get this info for a long time. I already had some info on the Jardines- was trying to see whether James Jardine had brothers/ sisters and any info on his parents- and what became of them all. So many questions.....
One other thing, I hear there was a summer steamboat from Belfast to Rothesay- during the summer months- anyone else can comment on this? Thanks

Yes, one of the Belfast newspapers of the time (summer of 1900) carries advertisements for excursions to Rothesay, the boat typically left Belfast at 7am and set off on its return from Rothesay at 6pm. 

The fare was 3/6 and tickets were availabe from restaurants and shops.

I came from the redirection of your last message. My contribution is As you know in 1863 Griffiths gives a Samuel Jardine in Banbridge.   Samuel has a comparatively expensive building valued for tax purposes at 10 Guineas. He has House office yard and garden all within 25 perches
His property is leased from a Wm Friar, and is on the corner of Ervin’s Lane and Scarva Street with map ref 129 34. I couldn’t find Ervine’s lane on the map provided {Library hdqts for SE Library and education board might have large town size]
But Also in Griffiths is a name to be investigated
Alexander Jordan Ballydown map ref 4 who has a house and land 6 acres , house valued at £1pa and a neighbor Robert Friar
 
going back to the Tithes Applotment records there is a James Jerdon Ballydown townland 1828  see http://www.irishgenealogyhub.com/down/tithe-applotment-books/seapatrick-parish.php#.VSewd0uDoYU
Ballydown is a little bit SE of Banbridge I have found the Ballydown Primary school on Google.

The Jardines in the 1901 census are all Church of Ireland or Presbyterian or Episcopalian
The Jordans are all Catholic
Combine that with the spelling Jerdon and I think you will need to search all church records

There are no entries for the surnames in the street directory for 1861 see http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/PT_Bpage508.htm#BANBRIDGE and also none in 1880
