This is definately getting off track but, have you maybe thought that Mary may have been married previously? Also that you may have the wrong year of birth?

With the place of marriage at Hill End/ Tambaroora area there is a Mary close by in Mudgee area married to a Donald McLean. They married c1861 at Mudgee. They also had a daughter Isabell but born 1880.
