I would think it was the cottage at the bottom right. Adey's Lane runs behind it.

If your man was 94 years old he probably needed a bit of help, hence his son living there?

The cottages do not look that big when you are standing in front of them. Small front doors from when the people matched them!

Hi stormyweather,
I visit Glos Archives (GA) twice a week & Glos Family History Society (GFHS) on Tuesdays as a volunteer, both via the FHS Link Scheme and for RootsChatterers.
I will check both Hawkesbury and Wotton-under-Edge, 1745-1749 for you next Saturday, and, fingers crossed will find your elusive George WHITE.

Hi Victor,  I know that the written word  does not always come across as genuinely meant but I really would be grateful if you would do this.

Hi,
I have now checked both the Hawkesbury & Wotton-under-Edge baptism records, 1745-1749, and there is NO records of a baptism for George WHITE.

Awww Victor, what a shame.  I will just have to keep looking.  Thank you so much for trying for me. Guess George must have hitched a ride from somewhere else. lol.

Well I finally "bit the bullet" and upgraded my Ancestry. I believe I have now found George. He was baptised in 1747 to William and Esther. They also had William, Robert, John, Samuel and Esther. The youngest of them all being born in 1736.
I then went looking for the marriage of William and Esther. I found two possibilities. One in Down Hatherley and one in North Nibley. Unfortunately at the time I didn't write down the details as I went, thinking to go back again. Now the one in Down Hatherley, I think I can now discount as it is quite a little away from the Wotton area and also this couple of William and Esther had a child in the same year as one of George's younger brother. Now I cannot find the  marriage of the William and Esther  who married in North Nibley on 1735, I think it was. I spent nearly all day yesterday trying to find it again and all of this morning. I know that I definitely saw it

Victor, is there a chance that you could look for this couple in North Nibley when you are next in the Archives? ;D
