Relatives of airman killed in WW2
« on: Monday 24 March 14 16:53 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find any relatives of Flight Sergeant Tegwyn Roberts who was killed when the Lancaster he was in was shot down over Holland in 1944. Before going any further I would be grateful for any guidance on which is the best part of rootschat  to use and whether I need to consider such things as confidentiality

Unfortunately the cwgc entry does not show his age when he died and there are a number of Tegwyn Roberts births

Been 21 and his parents are noted on the cwgc i would say he was single. If he was married his wife would have been noted on the cwgc as well.

I agree - having a problem tracing his parents marriage at the moment.  All the marriage would establish is the date from which to start looking for sibling births

However - even if found - looking for Roberts births with mmn Williams in St Asaph throws up far too many matches to know whether any were his siblings

There is no parental marriage within a year or so of Tegwyn's birth

This is the only marriage I can find but it was a long time before Tegwyn's birth and father is not Morris so I'm not confident it's the right one

Marriages June qtr 1901

Robert Maurice Roberts    St. Asaph    11b   599
Margaret Williams

There is always the possibility that Margaret was previously married in which case she will not have married as Williams

There aren't many possibilities for Tegwyn's parents marriage, all things being equal.Though outside the area,I can only offer a Morris Roberts to a Maggie Williams at Pwllheli Caernarvonshire in 1923.
