Peggy Tilbrook nee Bacon - Isleham - Completed, Thanks
« on: Thursday 20 March 14 12:50 GMT (UK) »
Hello, Im new on here and am looking for the Tilbrook line in Isleham.
Namely, right now I am looking for help to find the death of Peggy Tilbrook,
born Peggy Bacon, married William Tilbrook (b 1794) in 1816, their last child, Jane was born in 1824  in Isleham. She then disappears and what I can only assume to be the same William Tilbrook is married again in 1841 and has had his first child, George with a lady called Susan in 1829.
I believe she died between 1824 and 1829 in Isleham or surrounding area, yet there seems to be no record of her death. If anyone is able to shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat.

Sorry for the delay in responding

See http://www.cfhs.org.uk/searchsd.cfm where there's a burial in Isleham in 1826 of Peggy Tilbrook age 33. Deaths weren't recorded until 1837, so you need to be looking for burials prior to that date

See http://www.genuki.org.uk

St Andrew was the parish church

You need to check the parish register to get full details of the burial entry eg Peggy, wife of William, age 33

Wow,thanks, really appreciated!
Are the parish registers only on microfiche and CD? Thats all I seem to be able to find of where they are. Its the first time I'm really delving into parish records, so just getting my head around them a bit more.

Transcriptions are usually on fiche or CD. The actual registers are on microfilm which you can view at Cambs Archives or at your nearest LDS Family History Centre.  Looking again at the Cambs FHS burial index it looks as though it would have been transcribed if Peggy were described as the wife of William, so I don't think the parish register will actually add anything. But I don't think that there's much doubt that this is the right burial.

Yes, I had a good look round on the burial and baptisms indexes, and it all matches up pretty fluidly. Thanks for linking me to there  :)
