I'm at the end of the alphabet and used to being at the back of the class, and I was moved over last week.
Any more theories?

I'm still on the old version and have the banner asking if I want to be one of the first to try the new site. It would be interesting to know what criteria they've used to decide when to change people.

Good morning all,

Well, judging by the amount of unhappiness I can see I was not the only one whose family research has come to a shuddering halt - Truth is I finished my family history quite some time ago, and I use FindMyPast for a slightly different reason - since my 20s I have collected old books, and now in my September years, being curious about the people who originally owned my books, and many of the books bearing bookplates or inscriptions with the names of the original owners, I research them and write a short biography which I place in the individual books.   I like to think that this acts as a small memorial to the original owner and increases the interest value of the book so hat when I am gone and my books find other homes, they will be the more appreciated.

A weird hobby, I know . . . .  but then, I was a strange child . . .  ha ha

Keep up the complaining . .

I've just received my e-mail, even though I don't have a subscription but have a few credits left.  WOW - IT IS SO EASY to use compared to the new Search on Ancestry. If they had Yorkshire records I would subscribe immediately.  The filters work instantaneously, there is no "primary allegiance" to American records, which is always a bonus for me as I have no connections in America at all.  Admittedly I haven't tried to save or download anything, but it all looks good to me.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
