The new Findmypast (Part 1)

I was just on the FindMyPast site and suddenly the whole format changed mid research and I cannot get the old site back .Has anyone else noticed this ?? I hate this different format .
Any help much appreciated.

They've been advertising that the new site is coming for weeks.

I think the secret to success is to persevere with it and not to judge too hastily.

And there are plenty of chatters here who will try and help you out if we can.

What are you having problems with?

Hi,
Most of my research is parish records, great for me in Plymouth as loads of local records are on there. I used to have a drop down box at the top of the page that took me straight to births etc. now there is 'search all records'. I also really hate the layout, very confusing with loads of extraneous results appearing. I have only just subscribed last weekend how disappointing,

'My records'  are showing as 1600 pages - It should be about 8 pages.  I cleared these records when they first introduced the My records feature and now it appears to be showing everything I have looked at since 2010. 

I can't see a way to set it permanently at UK records, I am having to put it in every time.  Also don't like the census transcripts, they used to be really good as I could just cut/paste a whole household in one go and put it straight into my family tree notes.

I don't think that the feedback survey will be relevant to this latest 'upgrade' by FindMyPast.  I started to answer it and gave up.

oh my goodness, I just had another go , all I want is a simple route to the parish rcords I was using , as they cut me off midstream to go to the new format. I have just given up, after having to type the country in (it was automatically UK before) then they asked me for a collection set and a record set. I can't be bothered

The bad news is that all the links are working except Parish registers, the others take you to the search page for that topic.

Oh dear, well I have just left my disgruntled feedback on their site. I feel stupidly upset, because at my age I just want things to be easy to use especially after a hard days work. I don't want to have to try too hard.

If I use my browser history I can get on to the old site and if I look for Alfred Harland, b 1866 +/- 5 in the North Riding I get two results, one of which is obviously my Alfred. If I then look at the transcript I get a table showing Alfred and his family, plus all their census details and address almost fitting one screen. If I use the new site I need to enter details about the "record collection" and the "record set" and I don't seem to find the option to specify "North Riding". This new search gives eight Alfred Harlands and when I identify my Alfred and look at the transcript I get a dreary column of data about Alfred with many blank spaces so that it extends over two screens and right at the bottom is a table of other household members but not their full data for which an additional charge is required. I find this quite upsetting.
