Hi all,
I am helping a friend with their family research & have discovered a family member was in HM Prison in Wakefield on the 1891 Census. (RG12/3750/148/15)
The person in question is 13 year old Irving Lindsay who on 2nd April 1891 at the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace at Doncaster, was convicted of breaking & entering a shop & stealing £3 in money & goods. He was sentenced to 3 weeks inprisonment followed by 5 years in a reformatory.
Would there be any prison records, ie admittance & or transferral to the reformatory & if so where would they be?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
David
