MODIFIED..... meant to ask if you have his DC that should give how long in Colony and give an indication of when he arrived.
Sadly that information is not included in South Australian Death certificates in 1865.
Ages on headstone may be incorrect depending on the knowledge of the person who placed it. Does it look a very old headstone. It may have been placed by descendants.

I am sorry to have to report the death of another of our respected residents, Mr. William Goode, who was proceeding to Mr. Jas. Anderson's station, driving a horse and cart. Having to pass a very bad sideling, which is quite unavoidable and dangerous to travel over, the cart appeared to have capsized, throwing the deceased's head on a large stone; and the cart falling over, must have crushed the head between the stone and the cart causing almost instantaneous death. An inquest was held on the 8th, when the evidence went to show the accident was quite accidental, and the Jury gave in their verdict accordingly. I may mention the deceased was very much respected by all who knew him, and leaves a widow and young family to mourn their loss. When we have had a few more such accidents I expect our roads will be made, verifying the old proverb, ' When the horse is gone lock the stable door.' There is no doubt had the road been made passable even, the deceased might still have been alive. I trust, as it is some time since the road was laid out that the work: may be proceeded with. There are numbers of men out of employ in the district who are eagerly waiting the work to commence.
